چکیده
Abstract Purpose The purpose of this study is to report the safety and efficacy pars plana glaucoma drainage devices with vitrectomy using one sclerotomy sites for tube placement in patients refractory glaucoma. Methods Retrospective case series 28 eyes who underwent combined device between November 2016 September 2019 at Massachusetts Eye Ear. Main outcome measures were intraocular pressure (IOP), medication burden, best corrected visual acuity, complications. Statistical tests performed R included Kaplan-Meier analyses, Wilcoxon paired signed-rank tests, Fisher tests. Results Mean IOP decreased from 22.8 mmHg 11.8 1.5 years ( p = 0.002), mean burden 4.3 2.1 0.004). Both significantly lower all follow-up time points. probability achieving 5 < ≤ 18 least 20% reduction preoperative levels was 86.4% 1 year 59.8% years. At their last visit, three (10.7%) achieved complete success as above without medications, 14 (50.0%) qualified medications. Hypotony observed eye (3.6%) prior 3 months postoperatively 0 after months. Visual acuity unchanged or improved 23 (82.1%) follow-up. Two had a decrease > 2 lines. required subsequent vitrectomies obstruction, transient hypotony. Conclusions results are promising, resulting significant medication-burden reductions through postoperative additional risk Inserting into an existing site may potentially save surgical by obviating need create another suture ports.

Sclerotomy for pars plana vitrectomy.
Closed vitrectomy has largely supplanted the 'open sky' method, particularly because it results in minimal interference with the integrity of the globe. Ideally the pars plana sclerotomy should be sufficiently watertight to allow the intraocular pressure to be maintained during surgery without impeding free movement of the vitrectomy instrument within the eye. We describe a sclerotomy technique...

PURPOSE To evaluate intraocular pressure (IOP) and visual acuity (VA) results after glaucoma drainage device (GDD) implantation combined with simultaneous pars plana vitrectomy (PPV). MATERIAL AND METHODS Retrospective review of 8 eyes (7 patients). The diagnosis was neovascular glaucoma (NVG) secondary to proliferative diabetic retinopathy in 4 eyes, in a which a double plate Molteno implant...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE To investigate the optimal technique for repairing recurrent rhegmatogenous retinal detachments. PATIENTS AND METHODS A 2-year retrospective review of recurrent rhegmatogenous retinal detachments by 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) or combined 23-gauge PPV with encircling scleral buckling was performed. The primary outcome was anatomical success. The secondary out...

We report here three patients who underwent combined Descemet's stripping with endothelial keratoplasty and transconjunctival pars plana vitrectomy for bullous keratopathy and posterior segment pathology. A surgical technique and case histories are described. Anatomic and visual outcomes of combined Descemet's stripping with endothelial keratoplasty and vitrectomy were excellent. Our experience...
متن کاملPars plana vitrectomy with pars plana tube implantation in eyes with intractable glaucoma.
AIMS Intractable glaucoma is glaucoma resistant to medical therapy and conventional surgical procedures. In this study, a planned surgical technique is discussed for controlling the increased intraocular pressure in selected cases with intractable glaucoma. METHODS Total pars plana vitrectomy with pars plana tube implantation was performed in 17 eyes of 17 cases with intractable glaucoma. Pat...
